Information About Your Community McMinnville - Warren County * SENIOR CENTER The McMinnville Warren County Senior Center, Inc. offers a multitude of services/activities including: information & assistance (linking seniors citizens with other services available in the community); outreach, friendly visitation, telephone reassurance, education programs, recreational & leisure activities, homemaker side services, health promotion, physical fitness & exercise room. We also provide RAPP support group, volunteer opportunities, income tax assistance, adult day care, food bank, and volunteer respite program and errand services for homebound senior citizens. The mission and vision of the Warren County RAPP (Relatives as Parents Program) is to be recognized in the community as the leading resource providing support and advocacy for grandparents and relatives raising children. Our purpose is to provide empowerment to caregivers facing a variety of problems such as legal, social, financial aad emotional or physical health, in their efforts to raise a grandchild, niece or nephew, etc... The RAPP Program (Relatives as Parents Program) provides educational programs & support groups for relatives who are primary care-givers for children. To provide assistance in finding legal, financial, and emotional support systems. The mission of the Sunny Day Adult Day Care Program will provide an organized program of services to activate and motivate adults 60 years of age or older. The program is designed for persons who need daytime supervision or seeks a program offering an option of living more fully without isolation and loneliness. Within a home-tike setting, weekly programming will strive to help participants regain and maintain their individual dignity, quality of life for participants and their families will be enhanced by the existence of the program. The goal of the Warren County CARES Program is to help low income, low income minority, rural, handicapped, frail, isolated elders live independently and with dignity in their own home. The services are available to person*s age 60 and older. There is no charge for this service, but donations are accepted. CARES objectives are to help rural elderly live independently and with dignity by offering grocery shopping, commodities/medicine pick-up and to delivery. To offer outreach for individuals with illness, frailty, social isolation and for people who have no effective support system in place. To target minorities and to provide links to individuals to the opportunities and services that are available. The Homemaker Aide Program provides in-home services to individuals who otherwise might be institutionalized improving their quality of fife while affording them the opportunity to live imdependently This service assists eligible consumers who are unable to perform household and management tasks, and yet wish to remain in their own homes. Routine light housekeeping duties may include: sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, changing linens, prcparirig meals, laundry, grocery shopping and picking up medications.
